What do you want to say with your shoes?

- We want to express sadness and disappointment at how we have handled the large group of unified Afghan refugees who have come to Sweden in recent years. Expulsions must be stopped because there has been a war in Afghanistan for forty years. Several large organizations, including Amnesty International, believe that there are no safe areas in Afghanistan. Despite this, the Migration Board continues its forced deportations to the country, says Eva-Märta Granqvist, one of the founders of the network "NOW IT IS NOW!", To SVT News Skåne.

No forced expulsions

Is it true that 80 Afghan refugees will be expelled today from Sweden?

“The Swedish Migration Board has no planned enforcement with so many people. When it comes to major enforcement, it is usually the question of people who do not leave the country on their own, and then it is the Police Authority that is responsible for these, ”writes Pierre Karatzian, at the Swedish Migration Agency's press service, in an email to SVT News Skåne.

SVT News Skåne has asked the Police Authority for a comment.

From case to case

The Migration Board considers that the security situation in Afghanistan is serious but that it varies within and between different provinces.

“However, the conflict has not reached the level that, according to law and practice, must apply in order for everyone from a certain country to stay. The Migration Board does not consider that the situation there is so serious that it includes everyone who comes from there, it is an individual assessment that is made in the individual case, ”writes Migration Board press spokesman Pierre Karatzian.

Shoe protest until Thursday

The shoe demonstration runs through September 12 and is organized by the national network "NOW IT IS NOW!", Which consists of local groups working for the rights of Afghan refugees in Sweden.
