KUWAIT CITY - The Kuwaiti cabinet expressed satisfaction with the health of the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the cabinet on its weekly meeting on the admission of the emir to a US hospital, he said in a statement carried by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah said two days ago that the Emir had been admitted to a hospital in the United States to complete medical tests.

Sheikh Ali Jarrah also pointed to the postponement of the meeting scheduled with US President Donald Trump on September 12.

Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Ahmad al-Sabah arrived in the United States earlier this month for a "private visit," according to Kuwait News Agency. He then flew to Washington to prepare for a meeting scheduled for Thursday with Trump.

On August 18, KUNA announced that the Emir had "recovered" from a health condition "after having undergone the usual medical examinations, the results of which were crowned by God's success."
