A poll conducted by Emirates Today on its Twitter account revealed that 47% of UAE nationals view the “lack of seriousness of companies” as a hindrance to nationalization plans in the private sector. And 20% attributed the reason to the lack of qualified cadres.

The poll respondents cited other reasons, which they considered as real obstacles to the localization of jobs in the private sector. New projects in light of the successive electronic developments, and the indifference of the Human Resources Department in some sectors towards the foundations, systems and ethics of employment.
Suhail al-Kaabi said that human resources in the private sector should be restructured, calling for the resettlement of executive and senior management, and that there should be an annual ceiling for each institution in the private sector to hire citizens and mandatory.
He called on the citizen Mohammed Abdullah, the need for the citizen to work in his own company himself, calling for the need to restrict some commercial licenses to citizens only, including pharmacies, physiotherapy centers and small clinics such as teeth, laboratories and others.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced its endeavor to provide 30 thousand job opportunities for citizens in the private sector during the current year, stressing that 11,681 citizens benefited from the job opportunities provided during the past year, of which 74% are registered with the ministry. 98% of all job holders are highly skilled jobs, with 58% of them being administrators, 15% specialists, 15% technicians, 12% technicians and assistant specialists, 8% legislators, senior employees and managers, and 5% in service and sales jobs.
She pointed out that 92% of the total number of job-seekers during the last year are concentrated in five economic activities with added value, namely financial and insurance activity by 49%, wholesale and retail trade 14%, information and communications 14%, real estate development 12% and tourism and hospitality 3%.
