Sweden's next foreign minister will be Ann Linde. It cites sources for SVT's domestic political commentator Mats Knutson. He sees two reasons why Prime Minister Stefan Löfven elected Linde to succeed Margot Wallström.

- The first is that Ann Linde has a solid experience in the field of foreign policy. She has worked with foreign affairs all her political life. Then she also has expertise in the EU area. EU policy is becoming increasingly important for Sweden.

"Operated at S in principle all his life"

Ann Linde was EU minister between 2016 and 2019.

- The second is the political foundation, which is extremely important for becoming a Social Democratic Foreign Minister. Linde has been active in social democracy in principle throughout his life, says Mats Knutson.
