Ireland is still waiting for a "realistic" proposal regarding the fate of its border in case of Brexit. This was stated at a press conference, Leo Varadkar, the Irish Prime Minister, Monday, September 9.

The Irish "safety net" remains an essential element of the withdrawal agreement until an alternative is found, "said Leo Varadkar welcoming Prime Minister Boris Johnson for talks on Brexit. "We are open to alternatives but they must be realistic. (...) We have not received any proposals to this effect so far," he added.

For their part, the British MPs must decide in the day whether or not they want early elections, desired by Prime Minister Boris Johnson out of the political crisis and implement his much criticized strategy on Brexit.
