For five years Hampus, Matilda, Jonas and Annika have wakeboarded together. But at the park located in Halmstad they thought there were too many people, which caused long waiting times.

- You could easily spend an entire day and maybe only go three times, says Matilda Gunnarsson, one of four who has been part of the project.

They wondered if they could buy a wakeboard park, but it was expensive. Therefore, they decided to build their own.

Conveniently, Hampus Battle's parents had a pond at their house, and they thought it was a good idea to use it.

Will open to others

For the coming spring and summer, the plan is for the park, which is located in Kåphult outside Knäred, to be open even to outsiders. But first, they need to get building permits, as the park is currently only allowed for private use.

- The plan is that we should go as much as we want ourselves. But also to get others around the district to want to start wakeboarding, says Hampus Strid.

So far there are two jumps and one slider in the park, but the ambition is that they will expand the park further.

What's here in ten years?

- Probably something much bigger, says Matilda Gunnarsson.
