British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is visiting Dublin on Monday. He must meet with his Irish counterpart Leo Varadkar to discuss the Brexit negotiations.

Officially, there is nothing to expect from the meeting between Leo Varadkar and Boris Johnson. The Irish Prime Minister simply wants to get to know his new counterpart and better understand his positions on Northern Ireland.

But the two men will largely talk about Brexit negotiations. The Irish government wants to avoid at all costs a "no deal", wanted by Boris Johnson, and especially the return of a border between the two Ireland. A proposal could be put forward this Monday: shrink the safety net to only Northern Ireland and not the entire UK. The question of customs controls, in case of Brexit without agreement, is also on the menu of discussions.

After losing his majority in Parliament , Boris Johnson arrives in Dublin in a weak position. And Leo Varadkar is well aware of this. He told the press this weekend that he was waiting to be convinced to trust his British counterpart.

I do not think he's silly, but I do not think he should run a country.
