If the public sees that the ban is not being complied with, it can submit a complaint to the Environment Office at Örebro Municipality.

So far, during the two months covered by the ban, six such notifications have been received.

- We have received complaints at four pubs in Örebro, a total of six complaints, so there are two pubs that have received two complaints, says Ida Karlsson, environmental and health inspector.

Check in summer

During the summer, the municipality has had walks in the city in the evening, when in connection with the control of noise level and the like, they also checked and informed about the smoking ban.

- In connection with this, we have also followed up the complaints and talked to the owner of the pub.

But whether the complaints are true or not is difficult to determine. Someone may at one point have noticed that it is smoked, but unless it happens when the environmental office itself is out and checking, it is difficult to prove.

However, the municipality may submit a penalty if it is repeatedly smoke on outdoor seating and the activity does not remove the guest.

- No not yet.
