“Unfortunately, the situation where the automatic advertising tools Google and Facebook are used to disseminate political advertising on the“ day of silence ”stipulated by the Russian election legislation is regular,” said Vadim Ampelonsky, a representative of the agency, quoted by TASS.

Earlier, Roskomnadzor revealed the spread of political advertising on Google, Facebook and YouTube in the days when it is legally prohibited in connection with the election.

The department noted that such actions can be considered as interference in the sovereign affairs of Russia. At the same time, ILV earlier sent requests to Google and Facebook to prevent the spread of political advertising on their platforms on September 7 and 8.
