The UK's Minister of Work and Pensions announced her resignation Saturday night in disagreement with Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Brexit strategy, which is suffering a stinging disavowal. Amber Rudd leaves both the government, of which she was a heavyweight, and the conservative party, criticizing very strongly the strategy of the head of government.

The resignation of Amber Rudd is a new blow for Boris Johnson and comes at the end of a catastrophic week for the Prime Minister. After a series of crucial defeats against Parliament, he chose to exclude 21 rebel conservatives who were respected figures in the party, including the grandson of Winston Churchill.

This brutal act shocked the Tories and led his younger brother Jo Johnson to announce his departure from the government and conservative party. This is also what has just pushed Amber Rudd to leave the ship: the Minister of Labor explains in her resignation letter that she can not continue to close her eyes while " moderate and loyal conservatives are thrown out " .

But the management of Brexit is also involved. Amber Rudd, who voted in 2016 to stay in the EU, said he had agreed to join Boris Johnson's cabinet in " good faith " but said he realized that the government's main objective, contrary to what it claims Boris Johnson was no longer trying to get a new deal to go out on October 31st.

Boris Johnson's entourage reacted without taking any gloves. A source on Downing Street told the tabloid Mail on Sunday coldly: " As the polls show, voters are not unhappy that the Prime Minister is getting rid of people who do not want to settle Brexit. There are many talented and younger MPs to replace dead wood .
