During the demo days, 24 different projects that received funding from the state innovation authority Vinnova are demonstrated.

The location is Västervik Airport and Örserumsviken, both part of the exercise area or test bed established by Drone center Sweden in Västervik and which has plans to become the largest in the Nordic region.

When SVT is in place, a specially built drone is shown, which should be able to transport light loads long distances quickly.

Can fly up to 150 kilometers per hour

The drone itself weighs about seven kilos and can take a load of about two kilos. The drone has both rotors and fixed wings which allows the drone to both hover, and fly forward for up to 150 kilometers per hour.

The project was initiated by Region Västerbotten to investigate the possibility of being able to quickly send, for example, organs, blood tests on analysis, or a heart starter to a place where someone had a heart attack. But the uses are many:

- All situations where you need to transport something that is urgent but that is not so heavy but that has to arrive quickly. Any spare part, something that has broken, there may be a need to transport some important thing that has come to an end, says Per-Daniel Liljegren, at R&D Welfare / Glesbygdsmedical Center in Storuman.

Search for avalanche accidents

Other projects that are shown include, among other things, the search for avalanche accidents with the help of drones, and drones that take surface water samples at sea and drones to create 3D models and maps of large forest stocks.

The demo days in Västervik last for two days during Tuesday and Wednesday.
