A Houthi military spokesman said Saturday a drone attack on a military target in the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.

The spokesman said that coalition forces launched 53 air strikes on Yemen during the past hours, stressing that the latest attack came in response to what he called the crimes of aggression and the ongoing siege of Yemen and raids.

The Houthi march channel quoted its air force that the attack "targeted an important military target in Khamis Mushayt with a number of aircraft bombed 2K, and hit the target with high accuracy."

For their part, the Saudi-Emirati coalition forces in Yemen on Saturday intercepted and shot down a drone fired by the Houthis towards the Kingdom.

The coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said in a statement that "the coalition forces were able to intercept and shoot down a hostile unmanned drone in Yemeni airspace fired by the Houthi group from Amran province (north of Sanaa) towards the kingdom."

The coalition considered that "the repeated terrorist attempts express the state of despair among the Houthi and reflect the reality of the losses among the ranks of its members and materiel and confirm the criminality of Iran's proxies in the region and its threat to regional and international security."

It is noteworthy that the Houthi group targets from time to time Saudi military and civilian sites with missiles and drones, while Saudi Arabia announces the response to these attacks.
