Sudanese director Amjad Abul Ela won the first work prize for his film "You Will Die in the Twentieth" at the Venice Film Festival.

Abu El-Ela dedicated his film to the martyrs and victims of the Sudanese revolution as it began filming the first day of the revolution, and tells the story of a boy predicted by a Sufi Sheikh that he would die in his 20 years.

Tunisian actor Sami Bou Agila won the Best Actor Award in the Afaq competition for his role in the film "Beck N'ich" by Mehdi Bersaoui. It tells the story of a father struggling to save his child's life.

The Lebanese film “The Sound Wall” by Ahmed Ghossein yesterday won three awards in the Critics Week Competition: the Grand Prize, the Audience Award and the Best Art Contribution Award.

Roman Polanski's "I Am Accused" won the Silver Lion Award and was received by his wife for being wanted by US justice. The choice of his film to be screened at the festival has raised many objections (by the Me2 movement) because of Polanski's past, accused of sexually assaulting a minor since the 1970s and fled the United States.

Swede Roy Andersen won the best director for "About Infinity."
