According to field reports that the operation of the volcano of anger of the Government of Al-Wefaq advanced - on Saturday - in all axes of fighting in Tripoli, where artillery and aviation bombarded the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter and forced them to withdraw from their front positions.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that the Libyan government government forces took control of an advanced position taken by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter, a platform to launch Grad rockets and artillery on the capital Tripoli.

The site is located in the axis of Alsabia southwest of Tripoli. Al-Wefaq forces also launched a multi-pronged attack on Hifter's positions in the Ain Zara and Wadi al-Rabi areas southeast of the capital.

The military media of the Wefaq government said Hifter's forces had withdrawn from their front posts in the Ain Zara axis.

He added that the air force of the Wefaq government launched several raids on the rear positions of Hifter forces in the outskirts of the cities of Tripoli and Tarhuna.

"What is happening today is the beginning of the progress of the Wefaq forces in all axes," Colonel Tayyar Mohammad Qunnu, spokesman for the Wefaq forces, was quoted as saying.

Military reinforcements
He added that "operations have been launched since early this morning in accordance with a military plan prepared, and on the instructions issued, and participated in the ground forces and warplanes."

Qunnu confirmed the intensification of fighting in the areas of Wadi al-Rabi, Ain Zara and al-Sabaia south of Tripoli. He said that Al-Wefaq forces destroyed two military transport vehicles of Hifter forces carrying Grad rockets in Wadi Dinar area south of Bani Walid.

On her Facebook page, Operation Volcano of Rage posted pictures showing the two vehicles being hit. "They were on their way to support Hifter's forces," she said.

According to Operation Volcano of Wrath, which is leading the battles against Hifter's forces, Al-Wefaq's heavy artillery is precisely targeting Hifter's gatherings in the Al-Sabiah area and the Al-Qiw triangle in the spring valley.
