“Roskomnadzor sent appeals to representatives of Google (including Youtube) and Facebook to take comprehensive measures to prevent the distribution of political advertising on these Internet sites on September 7 and 8, 2019,” the agency’s website said.

It is noted that if these measures are not taken, then Russia will regard this as an interference in the sovereign affairs of the country.

It will also be regarded as an obstruction to the holding of democratic elections. In this case, the Russian side reserves the right to an adequate reaction, Roskomnadzor said.

In August, Roskomnadzor demanded a ban on advertising illegal actions on YouTube.
