Putin expressed condolences to Zimbabwe over the death of Mugabe

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the leader of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwe, in connection with the death of the former president of this African country, Robert Gabriel Mugabe.



The president’s telegram, the text of which is published on the Kremlin’s website, says that many important events in the modern history of Zimbabwe are connected with the name of Mugabe.

Putin noted that Mugabe made a great personal contribution to the struggle for the independence of Zimbabwe and to the construction of institutions of Zimbabwean statehood.

“In Russia he will be remembered as a consistent supporter of the development of friendly relations between our countries, which has done a lot to strengthen mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation,” the telegram said.

It was previously reported that Robert Mugabe died at the age of 95.
