- As the Riksdag voted through the Moderates and Christian Democrats' budget in December last year, the appropriations in the environmental and climate budget were reduced by 2.1 billion. Already in the spring amending budget some of that money was reversed, but now the government goes all the way and raises the total appropriations for environmental and climate measures to SEK 12.5 billion.

- The biggest expense is the so-called Climate Scale, which M and KD completely scraped because they thought it was ineffective. Climate change has also been criticized by both the National Institute of Economic Research and the Swedish National Audit Office, which meant that it was not cost-effective, in short, too little emission reductions for money.

The government cooperates with the Center Party and the Liberals, how difficult have negotiations been on the environment and climate budget?

- Not particularly difficult, although neither C nor L are particularly fond of the climate. What has, however, been much more difficult to agree on is the petrol tax where MP wants to return to the indexation introduced in 2017, which means that the tax is calculated using the general price trend (CPI) plus two percentage points.

- The language tubes today did not want to answer how things are. However, I understand that there will be no increase in air tax next year, which MP has been pushing for. But an increase in the air tax may well become reality later in the term of office as part of the green tax bill of 15 billion that the government and their partners agree on, says Elisabeth Marmorstein.
