Cristiano Ronaldo, the five-times world footballer of the year, is to receive 162 million euros (178 million dollars) from his contract with sports equipment company Nike, according to leaks "Football Lakes" announced by the German magazine "Der Spiegel" on Friday.

His last contract until 2026 includes a reward of four million euros if he wins individual awards, according to the draft contract.

Ronaldo, 34, who moved from Juventus last season to Real Madrid after a career full of titles, has a contract with the US company since 2004, which "secured a substantial import of 3.65 million euros".

"As long as Ronaldo plays with a first-class team, he will receive 16.2 million euros a year."

"We don't comment on athletes' contracts," Nike said.

Among the most paid German athletes, Arsenal's Mesut Ozil has been named with 1.2 million euros a year from Adidas. The figure fell 800,000 euros after he retired internationally last year.

The leaks, "Football Lakes" revealed the system of tax evasion in the world of football, especially the case of Ronaldo when he was defending the colors of the "Royal" Spanish.
