At the end of August, Senator Johnson refused to obtain a Russian visa. The Russian Embassy said that Johnson did not even contact the diplomatic mission.

As noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry, the politician was included in the stop list in response to the inclusion of representatives of Russia.

Senator Murphy also later stated that Russia refused him an entry visa.
