Over 100 apartments on Torsalundsgatan in Trosa have been without hot water for over a week. According to HSB, which owns the rental apartments, it is a heat exchanger that has broken and that is why the hot water disappeared.

- It has been a negative mood, it does not feel like they care about those who live in the "pit", says Maria Hansson.

Imported spare part

The housing company stated in an information letter to the residents that "heat exchangers are not something that is in stock but takes a certain amount of time to obtain". The spare part is bought from Denmark, the solution from the housing company has been that the tenants have to go to the bath house Safiren in Vagnhärad on their own to shower.

- I work in Vagnhärad so I've been able to shower after work. But I think of all the elderly, families with children or others who do not have the opportunity to shower with relatives or go 10 km to shower, there should be better solutions, she says.

"It is very regrettable"

Per Morelius, property development manager at HSB in Sörmland, says the situation has not been good.

- It is very regrettable, it has taken longer than we had imagined. But things happen in houses, we can never reserve that for, he says.

But is it reasonable to go 10 kilometers to shower?

- Of course it is incredibly sad that this has happened. Therefore, we will also compensate our tenants, they will receive compensation on the rent. It's just to regret that it became like this, says Per Morelius.

According to HSB, the hot water will be back in all apartments during Friday.

- These are old apartments, next time you should be better prepared. If HSB had talked to the municipality we might have been able to shower in Tomtaklintskolan, it takes five minutes to get there, says Maria Hansson.

During Thursday evening, residents who were affected announced that they had received back the hot water.
