In the end, it was not possible. She didn't go to school. In retrospect, she finds it difficult to pinpoint a specific reason why she felt bad about just the idea of ​​school, but she believes that the pressure and stress came into play.

- There was a lot that really happened, I felt a lot of performance anxiety, stress and pressure and then the school became a stressed place for me and I couldn't get there, she says.

Got support and help

Fortunately, she received the support she needed from family, friends and school. When she told her friends about how bad she was, several people opened up and described that they had had similar feelings.

- My family was worried. They didn't know what it was either. It's not that common to stay home from school and so maybe, but the more we talked and I got in touch with a psychologist who could explain, yes, but then it felt better.

After several years of special education and talk therapy with the municipality's attendance team, she is feeling well again and has just started high school.
