It was in early June in central Stockholm that the police got interested in a car and tried to make it stop. The driver chose to continue driving. As the car stopped further ahead, a man jumped out and ran away, throwing an object away at the same time. The man was 22-years-old and the object was a gun. He could be broken down and arrested less than 100 meters from the car.

So now he has been sentenced to two years in prison for serious arms crime.

The man was conditionally released from prison

The 22-year-old has, in questioning, stated that because of the verdict regarding Our pub and bar, he has a threat image to himself and his family. He therefore moved around between different locations and often wore a protective vest. According to him, he got the gun to protect himself while in Stockholm. When the police found the gun at the arrest, it was clear that it was sharp.

He was convicted of a serious weapon offense by Stockholm District Court at the end of July and the sentence was set by Svea High Court last week. The man was released unconditionally last summer, as the first of the perpetrators after the deed on Vårväderstorget in Gothenburg. In July, the district court declared the man's conditionally granted freedom as forfeited. This means that, in addition to the new sentence, the 22-year-old must serve another year of his previous prison sentence.

A bloody mass shooting at Our pub and bar

It was one evening in March 2015 that two masked people rushed into the restaurant Vår krog and bar at Vårväderstorget in Biskopsgården in Gothenburg. Both were armed with automatic weapons. Two people were killed and eight seriously injured.

A total of eight men were charged with suspicion of involvement in the murders at the bar. One of them was released in court, while seven were sentenced to prison. Two of the men were sentenced to life imprisonment. All were convicted of assisting with murder and none for murder because it could not be clarified who did what. The 22-year-old is one of these seven.
