The Department of Transport and the Integrated Transport Center (ITC) have announced the start of registration in the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System for individuals by visiting the Department's website or by reviewing the Customer Happiness Centers of the Integrated Transport Center, or one of the Abu Dhabi Government Services Centers (TAM). Major bridges will be held in Abu Dhabi on 15th October to ease traffic congestion and increase the efficiency of the local transport sector, in line with Abu Dhabi's comprehensive road transport plan.

In the future, the second phase of registration will be announced in the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System for the category of companies and will have the opportunity to register their vehicles and fleets.

Anyone wishing to use the roads leading to Abu Dhabi Island must register with the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff through the Department of Transport website (https://abudhabi.gov.dot).

Click on the “Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff” icon, select the “Registration” page and follow the steps using your Emirates ID number.

It is worth mentioning that all vehicles registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi until 15 October next will be registered in the system automatically without any fees, where the user will receive a text message on his mobile number registered with the Abu Dhabi Police on account details, and for vehicles that will be registered in the Emirate After 15 October, the user will have to add it to his account and pay the registration fee of AED 100 per vehicle (AED 50 registration fee and AED 50 credit in his account).

For those who own vehicles registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and vehicles registered outside the Emirate, an automatic account will be registered for him, including his vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi and without paying a registration fee. A text message will be sent to him via his mobile phone about the account details. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi paid a fee of AED 100 per vehicle (AED 50 registration fee and AED 50 credit in his account).

For vehicles not registered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, users must login to the account through the website manually, add vehicles and then pay the registration fee of AED 100 per vehicle (AED 50 registration fee and AED 50 credit in his account) before crossing the gates of the Abu Dhabi Traffic Tariff System.

The Department stated that if any vehicle not registered in the Emirate crosses one of the gates of the tariff system after its activation, the owner of that vehicle will be given 10 working days to register in the system before issuing any violation against him. If the registration is not initiated within the specified period, a violation of AED 100 will be issued for crossing on the first day, AED 200 for crossing on the second day, AED 400 for crossing on the third day and any subsequent transit (whether connected or intermittent), provided that the value of the violations does not increase. Maximum AED 10,000.
