“This exhibition has nothing to do with today's Bulgarian domestic political discourse,” the message says on the embassy’s Facebook page.
It is noted that the exhibition is aimed exclusively at acquainting the Bulgarian public with archival materials from Russian depositories.
It is clarified that the diplomatic mission is “discouraged” by the fact that official statements are made prior to acquaintance with the exposition.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria called on Russia not to support the “dubious historical thesis” that the war of the Soviet Union against Nazi Germany was the liberation of Europe.
