The Sudanese Council of Sovereignty has approved the nominations of Prime Minister of the transitional government Abdullah Hamdouk in preparation for its announcement on Thursday.

For his part, member of the Council of Sovereignty Lt. Gen. Shamsuddin Kabbashi positive meeting, stressing the consensus on the proposed names of the new government, and said it is expected to be announced on Thursday.

In the same context, the leader of the forces of freedom and change in Sudan, Mohammed Ziauddin that the formation of the new government will be announced on Thursday, after the completion of consultations on ministerial lists.

On Tuesday, a spokesman for the Sovereignty Council, Mohamed al-Faki, said the announcement of the formation of the transitional government would be within 48 hours "at the latest."

Al-Faki's remarks came after an extraordinary meeting held by the Council at the Republican Palace in the capital Khartoum, in the presence of Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk.

Hamdouk had received lists of nominations of ministers submitted by the forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change, where the nominations amounted to 49 candidates and 14 female candidates for 14 ministries, and 16 candidates and candidates for five specialized ministerial councils.

On August 22, Hamdok was sworn in as head of the Sudanese government during the 39-month transition that ends with elections.
