The cabin crew of the Irish airline Ryanair based in Portugal has filed a strike notice for September 27, said Wednesday a union.

The National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Attendants (SNPVAC) demands that Ryanair comply with the Portuguese Labor Code, especially on bonus and holiday issues, and not Irish law, an SNPVAC spokesperson told AFP. AFP.

Ryanair, and the Crewlink and Workforce temp agencies working for the company, had reached an agreement with the unions in late 2018 providing for the application of Portuguese labor law to cabin crew based in Portugal. But the unions believe that this agreement is not respected.

Ryanair's cabin crew in Portugal had already been on strike for five days in late August, but the move had had minimal impact due to the minimum service ordered by the government.

Ryanair faces social movements in several countries. The cabin crew and the company's pilots in Spain also have to go on strike in September, in particular on the 27th, to protest against job cuts.
