As Poroshenko noted, such a decision is yet another confirmation of what "we have laid the reliable foundation of unity with Ukraine in the past five years."

He thanked the European partners and friends of Ukraine, who firmly support the "struggle to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity."

According to RIA Novosti, referring to a source in the EU, the EU’s permanent representatives agreed on a six-month extension of sanctions against Russia.

On June 20, the EU Council extended the package of economic sanctions against Russia introduced in connection with the annexation of Crimea.

The Federation Council commented on RT such a decision.
