On Tuesday morning, it was discovered that someone had entered the mink farm by breaking gates and then releasing the mink from their cages.

"When we arrived we were met by the fact that it ran everywhere on the ground - back and forth," says Robert Loeffel, the police spokesman.

Robert Loeffel does not want to say which mink farm it is about but confirms that mink for hundreds of thousands of kronor has been issued.

Serious damage

The incident is classified as serious injury, illegal infringement and animal cruelty. The reason why the police classify the release of minks as animal cruelty is because the patrol who visited the mink farm noted that some of the minks were injured.

- We found animals that probably hurt each other. They are not used to socializing like that, says Robert Loeffel.
