The meteorological fall, ie a daytime temperature below 10 degrees five days in a row, is late in much of the country. So far, it is only meteorological fall in parts of the mountainous region and very high up in the north.

- If you look at the normal arrival of autumn it is a bit late. Before the tenth of September, most of Norrland should have had an autumn, says Nitzan Cohen, aiming that it does not currently appear to be so.

Early entrance locally

Locally, however, autumn made an early entrance. First out was Tarfala in northern Lapland mountains and Naimakka at the Finnish border in Lapland on August 2, followed by Stekenjokk in southern Lapland mountains on August 3. But after an early start, it is now somewhat delayed compared to the regular timetable based on the reference years 1961-1990.

Exactly what the late fall is due to is difficult to answer. According to Nitzan Cohen, there are many factors that can come into play.

During Thursday, rain pulls in over eastern Svealand, which later spreads further north. In northern Norrland you can expect larger rainfall and some occasional thunderstorms in some quarters. Farther south there will be a changing cloud with rain and thunderstorms that search across western Götaland and western Svealand.

Autumn weather short lived

Little rain remains on the far north during Friday, while a new rain storm pulls in from the southwest.

- Several low-pressure passages with rain pull in during the week.

For the weekend another rain area will pull in from the southwest and continue further north. The unstable weather continues over the weekend with a low pressure that pulls up straight from the south - which gives extra uncertain weather forecasts.

However, the autumn weather does not appear to be particularly long-lived. Already next week, it seems to be slightly warmer in their quarters with temperatures up to 15-20 degrees, says Cohen.
