The name of the German Nazi leader Adolf Hitler on a restaurant in Dohuk, in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, sparked controversy in social media, amid reports that it was closed by the authorities of the region.

Restaurant owner Reber Mohammed said in remarks published yesterday that the name of his restaurant is not necessarily proof of his love for Hitler, pointing out that "the goal was only for publicity and in order to make my restaurant famous among the people."

He added that when he started the formal transactions to register the name of his restaurant seven months ago did not receive any negative reactions from the government or security forces in the region, pointing out that customers who visit his restaurant do not care much about the name, but the food provided to them. The criticism he receives about the naming of the restaurant does not affect his work.

While the name of the restaurant is controversial on the media, customers do not care about it and are seen filling the restaurant.

Kurdistan will not be the safe place for neo-Nazis
Yesterday a restaurant was opened in the city of Dohuk in the name of the criminal (Hitler), which aroused widespread dissatisfaction within the Kurdish community and today the Kurdistan government thankfully teared the name of Hitler and closed the restaurant. pic.twitter.com/GXR4cNAeIM

According to information received from Duhok, the authorities closed the restaurant and informed the owner that he would not be allowed to open it again unless the name was replaced and the Nazi emblems on the walls of the restaurant were removed.
