- Egypt: Former President Mursi dies when testifying before a court
A new tragedy shakes the family of the former Egyptian president, the Islamist Mohamed Mursi. Just two and a half months after the death of the president overthrown by the coup d'etat, his youngest son, Abdullah Mursi , has died late on Wednesday in Cairo as a result of a heart attack , his relatives have confirmed.
Abdullah, only 24 years old, had been Mohamed's most combative offspring, evicted from power on July 3, 2013 in a coup d'etat led by the then head of the army and current president Abdelfatah al Sisi . During these six years, the young man censored the assault; celebrated his father's determination to refuse to accept the 'manu militari'; and denounced the conditions of his father's imprisonment, in the middle of a brutal repression that has sent more than 60,000 opponents to jail.
