The deputy foreign minister also said that he would hold a round of security consultations in Tokyo next week, which would inter alia address the issue of Russia's military construction in the Kuril Islands.

At the same time, he noted that the topic of military construction of Russia in the southern Kuril Islands has nothing to do with the peace treaty with Japan.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a speech at the Territory of Meanings All-Russian Youth Educational Forum, said he did not consider the situation with the signing of a peace treaty with Japan to be an impasse.
