“During the investigation, the investigation established Zhukov’s non-involvement in the riots in Moscow on July 27, 2019. In this regard, criminal prosecution under Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Russia has been discontinued in respect of him, ”the report said.

As noted, the court sent Zhukov under house arrest.

The UK stressed that another episode of Zhukov’s criminal activity had been established, after which he was charged with a crime under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of Russia - "Public calls for extremist activities committed using the information and telecommunications network Internet."

According to the investigation, in 2017 Zhukov posted videos on YouTube containing public calls for extremist activities “based on political hatred and hostility,” including “forcibly changing the constitutional system, riots and obstructing the lawful activities of law enforcement officials”.

Earlier, Ivan Podkopayev, who was accused of using violence against law enforcement officers on an unauthorized rally on July 27, was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony.

Another person involved in the case, Danila Fugitive, was sentenced to two years in a penal colony.
