In June, the Council of the European Union postponed negotiations on EU accession of Northern Macedonia and Albania due to the lack of support for this decision from a number of countries.

Earlier, the leader of Northern Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, called accession to NATO and the EU the country's priorities.

The doctor of historical sciences Artyom Ulunyan, in an interview with the NSN, explained the decision of Macedonia to change the name by his desire to ensure full participation of the country in NATO and integration into the European Union.
