To cope with this violence, the government launched this Tuesday, September 3, its Grenelle domestic violence. A first series of measures to help women was announced by Prime Minister Philippe.

At the launch of the Grenelle domestic violence in Matignon, in the presence of more than a dozen ministers and about 80 guests, including associations for the defense and assistance to women victims, the head of government explained that 5 million more euros would be released to create from 1 January 2020 1,000 new places of accommodation and emergency housing for women wishing to leave their home and a violent spouse.

These places, which will be added to the existing 5,000, will be divided into 250 places " in emergency shelters, to ensure immediate security ", and 750 places of " temporary accommodation " for periods of time. between 6 months and a year, said the head of government.

Édouard Philippe also announced the generalization of the possibility of filing a complaint to the hospital. " When a woman goes to the emergency room for assault, it's hard enough. If she has to go home before filing a complaint, she will find her spouse who may threaten her, "said the head of government. This possibility will be generalized " from November 25 ", date of the end of this Grenelle, he added.

On the judicial level, he announced that " specialized prosecutors " specialized in domestic violence would be identified " in the 172 courts of metropolitan France and overseas " and that emergency rooms would be tested.

" We are experimenting with these emergency rooms so that the files are treated in 15 days with a better articulation of the different judicial actors. The first experiment will take place in Créteil, "said the Prime Minister.

He also referred to a bill proposed by the LREM group for the effective establishment of the " electronic anti-rapprochement bracelet ", including " before any conviction " in the context of a judicial review or a court order. protection, or the suspension of parental authority for violent fathers with their partner.
