“Because some algae or cyanobacteria can form toxic substances, you should not bathe when it is algal bloom. Algae bloom can cause skin irritation in connection with bathing. It can also be dangerous if you accidentally swallow water as it may contain algae toxins (poisons) ”, it says on the municipality's website.
Especially small children and dogs are sensitive to getting water affected by algal blooms.
