MOSCOW - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reiterated his country's stance on committing to the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear file, while an Iranian diplomatic and economic delegation is holding talks in France on a proposal made by Paris on the nuclear deal.

During talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Moscow, Lavrov said he hoped to see how realistic the results are on the French president's recent initiatives on the Iranian nuclear deal.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed that Tehran has no intention to reconsider the joint comprehensive action plan of the agreement, and criticized Zarif European partners in the agreement because they are not taking the steps required to save it as he put it.

On the other hand, an Iranian diplomatic and economic delegation headed by Assistant Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi today held talks in France to discuss a proposal submitted by Paris by European countries on the nuclear agreement.

"If the European countries are not ready or able to implement their commitments, it is not logical for Iran to continue to fulfill its obligations under the nuclear deal," Iranian government spokesman Ali Rubaie said.

With regard to the French initiative, Mahmoud Vaizi, director of the Iranian president's office, said that Paris submitted a proposal from the European countries to Iran before the G7 summit in France as a result of talks between President Hassan Rouhani and French President Emmanuel Macron.

In a televised statement, Vaizi added that his country had changed some of the items of this proposal and that Tehran is scheduled to continue negotiations with the European countries on the issue, and that a diplomatic and economic delegation headed by Assistant Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will go to France on Monday to discuss the details of the proposal.
