The French basketball team started its World Cup with a win over Germany, 78-74, Sunday in Shenzhen.

The Blues have taken their revenge on the Germans, the last to have beaten them in a big tournament, in the 8th finals of Euro-2017.

France took an ideal start by inflicting a 17-0 entry to very clumsy Germans. The latter have never been able to recover despite the close final (-2).

Evan Fournier and Amath M'Baye were the two best French with 26 and 21 points. Rudy Gobert was very present in defense (5 cons).

The French will play their second match Tuesday against a much weaker team, Jordan.
