The current escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli front comes against the backdrop of Hezbollah's announcement of the destruction of a military vehicle belonging to the occupation army, in response to an attack carried out by Israel with two booby-trapped aircraft last Sunday on the southern suburb of Beirut, known as the main stronghold of the party.

This was preceded by Israeli raids on several sites in Iraq and Syria belonging to what Tel Aviv described as Iran's arms in the region.

In this report, we monitor the military capabilities of the Republic of Lebanon versus the IDF's strength, as reported by Global Firepower, without including Hezbollah's force and weapons, for which we will report.

The location data, which we present in this report in abstract figures, shows a significant disparity in the balance of power for Israel, which relies on a highly capable air fleet.

The Israeli air force, consisting of about 595 warplanes, includes highly sophisticated stealth fighters as well as attack helicopters, while the Lebanese Air Force is limited to 63 aircraft.

Ground forces
In its ground forces, the fortified Merkava tanks are at the forefront, with Israel owning 2,760 tanks compared to 276 for Lebanon.

Heavy artillery has Lebanon 12, Israel has 650, and Tel Aviv has about 150 mobile rocket launchers, as well as "Iron Dome" platforms.

The site also shows a huge difference in the size of defense budgets, while Lebanon has allocated about $ 1.7 billion, the defense budget in Israel is close to $ 20 billion.

Even in terms of the size of the military, the number of regular soldiers in Lebanon is about 75,000, while in Israel the number, including reservists, exceeds 600,000.

In the field of naval power, Israel has submarines, naval cruisers and an integrated naval fleet.

It should be borne in mind that Israel is one of the countries that possess nuclear weapons, although it did not disclose the size of this force.

Overall, Israel ranks 17th in the world in total military power, while Lebanon is 118th.
