Temperatures will be lower, Sunday 1st September, than the day before while some showers will be triggered in the south-west of France and in the Alps. Thinnings are however expected in the western part of France.

New waves will fall Sunday, September 1 in the south and east of France while the weather will be quieter and sunny in the northwest, according to Météo-France forecasts released Saturday, August 31.

In the morning, the weather will be very cloudy and sometimes rainy, even stormy, in Aquitaine, in the Pyrenees and to the German borders and the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.

In the afternoon, clouds and showers will shift between the Pyrenees and the eastern borders, with thunderstorms more frequent on the relief of Corsica, the Massif Central and the Jura to the Southern Alps and sometimes to the Mediterranean shores.

In the Pyrenees and their foothills, a more gray and slightly rainy weather will settle at the end of the day, with the installation of the tramontane.

In contrast, in the northwest the weather looks more calm and sunny. The clearings will be beautiful in Brittany, in the Pays de Loire and until the Hauts-de-France in the morning. They will win Poitou-Charentes and Lorraine in the afternoon.

Strong drops in temperatures throughout France

There will, however, be a few cumulus clouds, especially near the Channel, and the wind from west to northwest will be sensitive in a distinctly cool atmosphere.

The minimum temperatures will range from nine to fourteen degrees in Brittany, Normandy and Pays de Loire and from thirteen to 19 degrees in the rest of the country. They will go from 17 to 22 near the Mediterranean and in the Rhone valley.
