Pro-democracy activists tried on Sunday (September 1st) to block the Hong Kong airport. Some have erected barricades not far from the airport, others have attempted a snail operation on the highway that connects the "hub" to the island of Lantau. Public transport is also disrupted.

All roads to the airport are blocked. Around noon, the Tung Chung subway line that goes to the airport was interrupted. Passengers were evacuated from the metro in the middle of the journey.

According to the announcements in the loudspeakers, protesters would have thrown objects on the tracks. Transport is very seriously affected . Prince Edward and Mong Kok, two stations in the center, are also closed following demonstrations on Saturday night.

Operation at the airport

While at the airport, the police operation continues. Protesters walking can be seen attempting to leave the airport area after trying to occupy it despite the police's sit-in ban.

The protesters find themselves a little in a trap because, once again, the peninsula of Lantau is closed. Buses and subways are stopped too.

Motorists and subway users react in two ways. When some complain of not being able to advance, others applaud the protesters in their path. Pro-democracy activists remain determined .
