The Dubai Public Prosecution has referred to the Criminal Court in absentia a European accused who threatened to expose a woman of his same nationality after obtaining pictures of her and text messages between her and her boyfriend obtained from phones stolen from her car. Her boyfriend returned money she borrowed from him last.

According to investigations by the Public Prosecution, the defendant insulted the victim in obscene terms, stole three phones belonging to her boyfriend from her car, and damaged parts of the car after he obtained it without her permission and consent.

The victim said that she had intended to leave home, and before doing so she gave her Audi car to her boyfriend but was surprised by the defendant calling her and telling her that he had taken the car. He also threatened to expose her to her family and social networks, and made obscene statements against her and issued a communication against him at the police station.
