Zelensky spoke about the attempts of the Foreign Ministry to interfere with his communication with Putin

“There was a tense atmosphere in the media, especially in the Foreign Ministry: they really did not want to allow a conversation with the president of Russia. For them, this is a political issue, for me - a human one, ”TASS quotes him.

According to him, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry feared that Ukrainian sailors could return to their homeland because of a conversation with Putin.

Earlier, ex-Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin advised Zelensky not to sit down at the negotiating table with Putin without friends and partners of Kiev.

In June, Zelensky said during a briefing that Klimkin and the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry are making decisions on their own, without consulting him. He made this statement in connection with the fact that Kiev received a note from Russia regarding the return of Ukrainian sailors. At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry sent a response note to Russia without discussing the situation with the Ukrainian leader.
