Vincent Luis clinched his first World Triathlon Championship title at the age of 30 in Lausanne (Switzerland), one year after the Olympic Games, a first for a Frenchman since Olivier Marceau in 2000.

Luis took 5th place in the Grand Final in Lausanne, enough to win the world title now awarded for the entire season between March and September. He succeeds his training buddy, Spaniard Mario Mola, winner of the WTS in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
