For 100 years the association Sportfiskarna has been around. From being solely about sport fishing, the association has evolved over the years.

- Today we have 30 biologists employed, we carry out fishing conservation projects and many activities for children and young people, says Peter Belin, who is the office manager in Värmland for the Anglers in the West region.

Film screening and sample fishing

The anniversary is celebrated with various activities at the association's office at the Klarälven River in Forshaga.

- Both children and adults will be able to try fishing grayling.

You will also be able to see how a bearing equipment works. An equipment that the association uses in a project right now to map how they move in the river. It is also the premiere week and will be the screening of the movie "Vänerfilmen" about salmon and trout in the river.

Plenty of fish

Belin's availability of fish in Värmland is good. Both on grayling, salmon and trout.

- We have a very good fishing county with diversity and a fantastic variety: from the inland Vänern up to the northern parts of the river which is almost a mountain environment - and so all the smaller rivers, rivers and streams.

Happy of jumping lies

And his own passion for fishing Peter Belin speaks warmly about describing himself as a fanatic who has been obsessed with fishing since he was a kid.

- The feeling of feeling that there is life in the water, the interaction with nature. I can get a barrage of water on the water, stand and watch the water, and be extremely happy to see a decimeter big mock jump.
