A terrible accident took place on Saturday at the first of two Formula 2 races on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit involving three cars, some of which were shredded.

Three drivers, including the Frenchman Anthoine Hubert, crashed and the car of the latter was literally cut in two under the violence of shock.

No news of the pilot was broadcast immediately while the race was interrupted to allow help to intervene.

The F2 is the last step of the promotion formulas before the F1 and Hubert, 22, occupies the 8th place in the championship before the Spa races after 16 events.

The other drivers involved are Juan Manuel Correa from the United States and Marino Sato from Japan. Only the latter was seen moving on his own after the accident.

The press conferences scheduled after the F1 qualifying session were canceled while Hubert and Correa were transported to the hospital.
