The parade is thus part of the joint program for the Wermland Pride that has taken place in Karlstad, Arvika, Säffle and Hagfors which lasted throughout August.

Bad about volunteering

Hazel Svensson is chairman of the board of the Värmland Pride association. According to Hazel Svensson, between 4,000 and 6,000 participants are expected at the parade. About 3,000 people are estimated to have attended the previous events during the first month of the prize. Hazel Svensson is pleased with the number of visitors, but admits that the festival has had some difficulties.

- The biggest challenge has been finding volunteers. Therefore, it is almost only we on the board who have worked with it. Maybe we have been bad at marketing ourselves and showing that we need volunteers, or maybe there just aren't that many people who are interested, says Hazel Svensson.

Starts in the Museum Park

Charging for the parade starts at eleven with a talk show in the Museum Park, and at 15 the parade starts. The parade will move along the Klarälven and Haga, then continue towards central Karlstad and back to the Museum Park. The entire event concludes at 16 with a short speech.

Music by quera artists

During Saturday's parade, participants are invited to bring speakers or instruments to play music. In addition, organizers like to see music played by quera artists.

- But that is obviously a call. Not a requirement, says Hazel Svensson.

Why should you come to the Pride Parade?

- To show their support for LGBTQ people. And because it's fun.
