August 31, 2019In spite of the expectations of the eve, thousands of people took to the streets in Hong Kong to protest for democracy. And this despite the prohibition of the police who did not grant authorization, due to the clashes of last week. And, even today, there are fears of new violent clashes, with protesters organizing barricades and agents preparing vehicles with hydrants to disperse the crowd.

To circumvent the ban, religious prayers have been called that do not require the same authorizations. And in the early afternoon, several thousand people gathered in Wanchai, in the center of the island.
In anticipation of the clashes, the police erected new barriers around the Liaison Office, which houses the local offices of the Chinese central government in the former British colony.
