A stabbing at a metro station in Villeurbanne, France, near Lyon, killed one on Saturday. Six people were injured, one of them serious, the newspaper Le Progrès reported. The violent attack occurred around 2.30 pm at the Laurent-Bonnevay metro station in the suburb of Lyon.
More than thirty relief workers are busy helping the victims, who are both in the station and in the forecourt. Bus and metro lines have been shut down and the station has been closed. Soldiers are on the spot.
There would be two perpetrators. One of them has been arrested. He would have had a knife. The second offender is still a fugitive. He would have been armed with a metal meat skewer. Nothing is yet known about the motive for the stabbing.
