At lunchtime, the owners of the building discovered that it was burning and then sounded an alarm.
"When the first units arrived at the site, the building was completely overcrowded," says Jalle Karlsson, interim leader at Värend's rescue service.
The rescue services had to concentrate on saving adjacent buildings, an economy building and a garage that was threatened by the fire.
- We managed to protect those buildings, but unfortunately the barn is burnt to the ground, says Jalle Karlsson.
There were no animals in the building that were used as a storage room. No person should have been injured in the fire.
